New programs offered at Rydell wildlife refuge

ERSKINE, Minn. – The Rydell National Wildlife Refuge here will host an animal menagerie at 1:30 p.m. June 30.

Participants can see boa constrictors, tarantulas, lizards and more. Staff from the Headwaters Science Center in Bemidji will demonstrate how to handle these exotic creatures.

On July 7 at 1:30 p.m., the Dig into Reading Program topic will be the hidden world under your feet. Take a look at what’s in the soil, including plant roots, nutrients, worms, slugs and bugs.
