Style Profile: Soft, feminine style for photographer
The 20-year-old Minnesota State University Moorhead junior sticks to a classic look punctuated with unique thrift store finds.
She says her style’s been influenced by the places she’s lived most of her life – the Florida Keys and Minnesota. Minnesota, Clark says, helped her simplify her style.
I spotted Clark downtown at Spicy Pie in an earthy ensemble.
Describe your style. I try to keep it simple with classic elements. I stay away from trends.
I like feminine mixed with natural elements.
What are you wearing today? Sweater from Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, dress and Coach belt from another thrift store, vintage Coach bag from Goodwill, bow barrette from Anthropologie, shoes by Minnetonka Moccasins and my watch is from the state park in Idaho (her birthplace).
What inspires your style? I used to read Vogue and look at The Sartorialist blog, but now vintage styles inspire me. I like the classic, simple shapes.
Who are your favorite designers? Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen for the art of his designs, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel, for the simplicity.
Who’s your style icon? Audrey Hepburn.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the arts or fashion world, who would it be? Audrey Hepburn, Alexander McQueen (fashion designer) or Robert Mapplethorpe (photographer).
Are you a dog or cat person? Dog. I have a mutt (a Chihuahua mini pinscher mix) named Elliott after photographer Elliott Erwitt.
