Airline boardings continue to increase in NDBISMARCK — Airline boardings at North Dakota's eight large airports in May were up more than 10 percent over the year.
The state Aeronautics Commission says Williston in the heart of the booming western oil patch once again led the way with a 161 percent increase, or nearly 5,000 more passengers than in May 2012.
Year-to-date boardings at the eight airports also are up more than 10 percent from 2012. Aeronautics Commission aviation projects manager Joshua Simmers says it's an indication of growth across the state.
