Summer children’s series begins today at MSUMMOORHEAD – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Planetarium’s summer children’s series begins today at 10:40 a.m. with a Favorite Planet Competition.
Kristin Brevik and Carrie Leopold, solar system ambassadors through NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s volunteer outreach program, will lead activities to get the audience thinking about their favorite planet.
At 11 a.m., the planetarium tour of the planets begins, hosted by Scarlet Gray Bernard, planetarium assistant. After touring the planets, visitors will cast votes for their favorite planet.
The series will continue at 11 a.m. July 18 with “Mooniverse,” which will explore the moons of the solar system, followed by a show about meteors at 11 a.m. Aug. 8 in preparation for the Perseid meteor shower in August.
Admission is $5 per adult and $2.50 per child, senior and Tri-College student.
