Wisconsin motorcyclist killed after striking deerEMERALD, Wis. - A 59-year-old Baldwin man has died as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening.
The St. Croix County Sheriff's Department responded to a single motorcycle crash shortly before 8 p.m. on County Road G in the town of Emerald.
A 2013 Harley Davidson driven by Robert F. Cripe was westbound on County Road G when a deer entered the roadway. Cripe's motorcycle struck the deer and Cripe was ejected from the motorcycle. He was the only occupant.
Cripe was transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he later died. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, it is unknown whether Cripe was wearing a helmet.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the crash.
