St. Louis County employee charged with possessing child pornDULUTH, Minn. - A St. Louis County Public Works employee was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of knowingly possessing child pornography.
Bruce Robert Hosking, 63, of Brevator Township, appeared before Judge Heather Sweetland in State District Court in Duluth on the felony charge.
According to the criminal complaint, a fellow employee reported to human resources that the image of a nude girl showering was seen on Hosking’s work computer. The employee also said there were two other occasions in which images of pre-adolescent children dressed only in their underwear were seen on Hosking’s computer.
A St. Louis County sheriff’s investigator on Friday seized the work computer. Five images of child pornography were found on the computer, the complaint said. The pornography appeared to include girls between the ages of 8 and 12 engaged in sex acts with men.
The complaint alleges Hosking admitted that he viewed child pornography on his work computer and that he knew the types of images he was viewing were “wrong.”
He was arrested Monday at the Public Works building. A search warrant was executed at Hosking’s home, where additional evidence was found.
Hosking remains employed during an internal investigation, said Dana Kazel, St. Louis County communications manager.
He was released from jail on $15,000 bail. His next hearing is scheduled for July 10.
