Weekend watch: Tommy Zurhellen readingSaturday
New York author Tommy Zurhellen made a small but memorable splash in 2011 with his first novel, “Nazareth, North Dakota,” a twisted tale of a single mom on the run from a shootout through the Badlands with a circus elephant on the loose to boot.
He follows it up with the second step in a planned trilogy, the quirky adventure “Apostle Islands.” If you’re sensing a Biblical theme, you’re not wrong, but it’s also not what you’d expect. Hear Zurhellen explain it for himself when he reads from the books Saturday night at Zandbroz Variety, 420 Broadway.
The event starts at 6:30 and is free and open to the public. (701) 239-4729.
