Police investigate vandalism in north FargoFARGO – Fargo police are investigating a rash of vandalism that occurred overnight.
At least three garages and one home were hit with spray paint in the area near the 1100 block of Fourth Street North, said Sgt. Jared Crane.
In addition, Crane said, vehicles in a number of areas of Fargo had tires slashed overnight.
He said as of this morning police had no suspects.
Referring to vandalism as one of the more frustrating types of crime, Crane said there is little homeowners can to do to prevent it. He said one way to discourage vandalism is to “light up” an area as much as possible because well-lit properties seem less prone to that kind of damage.
He said no dollar estimate has been placed on the vandalism.
The spray painted images included profanity and symbols.
Deputy Police Chief Pat Claus said most of the tire slashing involved vehicles in the area of the Buena Vista Mobile Home Park, 4301 El Tora Blvd., where he said possibly 20 vehicles were hit.
