Former DMI employees may be eligible for aidWEST FARGO – Former employees of DMI Industries Inc. may be eligible for benefits under the Trade Act Program.
On June 4, the U.S. secretary of labor certified as eligible for benefits all employees of DMI Industries Inc., as well as contract workers from Volt Services, Manpower, Spherion Staffing and Preference Personnel.
DMI Industries in West Fargo was a wind turbine plant that was sold by Otter Tail Corp. to the Dallas-based company Trinity Industries in October 2012.
The Trade Act program is a federal program that helps workers who have lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade.
Employees of DMI Industries who were fired or laid off on or after Feb. 13, 2012, through Feb. 13, 2014, are eligible to apply for assistance.
Employees should contact Job Service North Dakota to receive guidance on available benefits and services and required deadlines.
