Letter: ND Republicans doing good work

Regarding former state Sen. Tom Fiebiger’s letter on June 6, it is apparent the Democratic legislators and Democratic Party leadership can never get enough. They want more spending, more laws, more rules and regulations. The people of North Dakota don’t need more headaches.

North Dakota is currently enjoying prosperous times. We need to be careful (not frivolous) with our money so we don’t damage the success story we have going for us. Spending can benefit the state if done properly. The Legislature realized there was a need for new spending, but did so to strengthen our state position and to also make sure we are not growing the government too much, too fast.

Human services were in dire need of funding. They provided $2.7 billion to help the elderly, children, people with disabilities, public assistance programs, substance abuse programs and many more. They also provided landmark funding for infrastructure and education.

The Republicans are showing their path for the future by legislating responsibly to help the people of North Dakota. Democrats don’t have a plan of their own, so they continually attack us.
