Dickinson's police dog retiring for health reasons
DICKINSON, N.D. — Buster the chocolate Lab is retiring soon as Dickinson's police dog.
Officer Corey Lee tells the Dickinson Press (http://bit.ly/18K8Vwn ) that Buster still loves coming to work but the 8-year-old dog has hip problems.
Buster is being replaced by Gambit, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois.
Lee and Buster have partners for years. Lee says it's hard for Buster to watch him leave for work with another dog.
Capt. Joe Cianni says Buster will be missed. Cianni says Buster assisted in several “quality arrests” during his time with the department.
