Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman to visit ND baseBISMARCK, N.D. — The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is slated to visit the Minot Air Force Base on Monday.
The military says the purpose of the visit is for Army Gen. Martin Dempsey to meet with airmen and their families and to tour the base.
The Minot base has B-52 bombers and also oversees Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Dempsey is the principal military adviser to the president, Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council.
