Hires and promotions - 06/15/13Discovery Benefits hires 2, promotes 2
Discovery Benefits has made two hires and two promotions.
Matt Larson was hired as partner account executive and Becky Telander as participant services training manager.
Sue Hanish Anderson was promoted to benefits services director. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, Minn., and a master’s degree in management from the University of Mary. She has eight years of project management experience and has been with the company since 2007.
Dan Bergem was promoted to participant services director. He graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls, with a degree in business management and accounting, and transferred to Minnesota State University Moorhead where he studied business administration and accounting. He has 21 years of project management experience and has been with the company since 2006.
Fugleberg joins Hearing Solutions
Hearing Solutions, Fargo, has hired Laura B. Fugleberg as a clinical audiologist.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech language hearing services from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master’s and doctorate of audiology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Knoxville.
J&M Printing hires Scott Klemetson
J&M Printing, Fargo, has hired Scott Klemetson as an estimator.
He has been in sales for 22 years, 10 years with Acme Tool Crib and most recently with Deckmasters.
First Community Credit hires Dan Engstrom
First Community Credit Union of Fargo has hired Dan Engstrom as a financial service officer.
Engstrom earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
He previously worked as an accountant at RDO Equipment and personal banker at Wells Fargo Bank.
Cornerstone Bank promotes Swedberg
Liza Swedberg has been promoted to customer service representation/teller at Cornerstone Bank’s Fargo University location.
Swedberg has been a teller at the bank since 2011.
Buttke joins Panache Hair Consultants
Kaitlyn Buttke has joined Panache Hair and Nail Consultants, Fargo, as a cosmetologist.
She attended Josef’s School of Hair Design and has worked in area salons since 2010. She has advanced training in hair services and will also offer nail, pedicure and waxing services.

Information Management Systems, a Fargo-based technology firm specializing in information technology consulting, security, hardware and phone system sales and support, has hired Denise Vanderbrush as a consultant.
She earned a computer programming degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead, and has more than 14 years of experience in network administration. She was most recently employed as a public safety system administrator II at Red River Regional Dispatch.
Oak Grove Lutheran hires Erin Markestad
Oak Grove Lutheran School, Fargo, has hired Erin Markestad as an advancement administrative assistant.
Markestad earned bachelor’s degrees in marketing and public relations from North Dakota State University. She previously worked as the economic development director for the city of Maddock, N.D., her hometown.
Chelsea Bennett joins Onsharp in Fargo
Chelsea Bennett has joined the digital marketing team at Onsharp, Fargo.
Bennett joined Onsharp as an intern in February. She is a senior majoring in public relations and advertising at North Dakota State University.
Andrew Hamilton joins 7 Day Clinic in Fargo
Andrew Hamilton is a new provider at 7 Day Clinic, Fargo.
Hamilton is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Wyoming, Laramie.
Larsen named MSUM director of admissions
Rance Larsen has been named director of admissions at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Larsen brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new role, including experience in public, private, two-year and university settings. He is currently the manager of enrollment development at Missouri University of Science.
He earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, and a bachelor’s in communications from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
Border States Electric hires one, promotes one
Border States Electric, Fargo, has hired Tom Nelson as corporate communications director and promoted Kelly Rudolf to senior information technology manager.
Nelson has many years of experience in public and media relations, including work for U.S. and state politicians.
Rudolf joined the company in 2003 and has held positions including technician, senior network engineer, network engineer, network supervisor and infrastructure manager.
Northwestern Bank promotes two
Northwestern Bank has promoted Cheryl Strand to executive vice president of operations and Danielle Becker to customer service representative III at its Dilworth location.
Strand joined the bank in 2006 and has more than 35 years of banking experience.
Becker has been with the bank since 2011.
Brown & Saenger hires Jamie Odegaard
Brown & Saenger has hired Jamie Odegaard as a furniture sales consultant in its Fargo office.
Odegaard recently retired from the North Dakota National Guard and has several years of sales and customer service experience.

Four join BlackRidgeBANK
BlackRidgeBANK has hired Dana Rinke as a commercial banking assistant/credit analyst, Savannah Heiser as a customer service representative/teller, Sam Schmid as a teller at its West Fargo location and Julianna Baartman as a teller at its Fargo location.
Rinke earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.
Heiser earned a marketing degree at UND and most recently worked for Bell State Bank and Trust.
Baartman is studying human resources management at North Dakota State University and has previously worked at Bremer Bank and Bank of the West.
Schmid is an accounting major at Concordia College.
Erickson named Bremer Bank charter president
Bremer Bank has appointed Russ Erickson to president and chief executive officer for the Fargo Charter effective July 1.
Erickson has been at Bremer for 32 years, most recently as president and CEO of the Grand Forks Charter.
He will oversee operations at Bremer Bank North Dakota locations in Fargo, Bismarck, Carrington, Casselton, Lisbon, Devils Lake, Max, Minnewaukan, Minot, Richardton and Rugby, and Minnesota locations in Detroit Lakes, Moorhead and Perham.
Erickson earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics at North Dakota State University.
Bell State Bank hires Eisert and DeBoer
Bell State Bank & Trust has hired Jon Eisert as a credit officer and Paul DeBoer as a vice president/private banking officer at its 3100 13th Ave. S. location in Fargo.
Eisert earned a bachelor’s degree from Concordia College and a master’s in business administration from Concordia University, St. Paul. He has more than five years of banking experience, most recently as a financial analyst at Wells Fargo.
DeBoer is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. He has been in the banking and finance field for 19 years, most recently with U.S. Bank.
Eventide hires Bertilrud as executive director
Eventide Senior Living Communities, Moorhead, has hired Mark Bertilrud as executive director of Eventide on Eighth.
Bertilrud graduated from Concordia College with a bachelor’s degree in health care administration.
He was previously employed as executive director of ProCare Systems and Burcham Hills Retirement Community, both East Lansing, Mich. He also worked for Lutheran Health Systems and as an administrator in long-term care facilities in North Dakota and Alaska.

Hoos earned a bachelor’s degree in multiage visual education at the University of Findlay, Ohio. She previously worked for Swanson Health Products.
Oster earned a bachelor’s degree in apparel and textile retail merchandising at North Dakota State University. She has assistant buying and retail experience from working at Laurie’s and The Limited.

NDSU hires research, creative studies VP
North Dakota State University has hired Kelly Rusch as vice president for research and creative activities.
Rusch is a professor, researcher and former administrator at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and a master’s and doctorate in civil engineering at Louisiana State University.
Bridget Kruger joins Elements Fitness
