HUD awarding $11.6 million for ND reservation housingBISMARCK — North Dakota's congressional delegation says North Dakota is getting about $11.6 million for affordable housing projects on American Indian land in the state.
The money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will go to tribal housing authorities in New Town, Fort Totten, Trenton and Belcourt.
Most of the money is going to the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority in Belcourt, which is getting more than $6.7 million from the Indian Housing Block Grant program.
Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp and Rep. Kevin Cramer say the grants will "help provide tribal communities with the resources they need to develop much-needed housing."
