Motorcyclist injured in crash near Fort Abercrombie dies

ABERCROMBIE, N.D. – A 24-year-old motorcyclist who was injured June 2 when he failed to negotiate a curve near the Fort Abercrombie historic site has died.

Joshua Taylor Wold died Monday at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Wold was eastbound on Richland County Road 4 here. He was passing Fort Abercrombie, heading toward the Red River bridge when his motorcycle hit a driveway approach and became airborne, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle landed on the Fort Abercrombie grounds and toppled to rest. Wold was thrown and landed near the motorcycle, according to Sgt. Josh Rude.

Wold was taken by LifeFlight helicopter ambulance to Sanford.
