Red Cross helps Minot for third summerMINOT, N.D. — American Red Cross volunteers are continuing to support the flood-recovery efforts in Minot for a third summer.
The organization each weekend is sending a staffed emergency response vehicle to neighborhoods as part of the Rebuild Minot program. Volunteers will provide water, food, cleanup supplies and emotional support to people working on their flood-damaged homes.
This year's program began earlier this month and will continue each Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day weekend.
Allan McGeough, executive director of the Red Cross’ Mid-Dakota Chapter, tells the Minot Daily News that more volunteers are needed to help hand out food and supplies.
He says that a lot of homes are still being repaired, so the service provided “is really vital.”
