Jessica Shawn of Discovery Benefits has graduated from the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber leadership program.
The program’s goal is creating leaders through community training and leadership development.
Several complete leadership program
The following professionals recently graduated from the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber leadership program: Craig Brye, internal audit manager/information technology at Otter Tail Corp.; Paul Matthys, key accounts executive at Cass County Electric Cooperative; Jenny Erickson, development and project coordinator for Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead; and D.C. Lucas, technology business adviser at Eide Bailly.
Bruce Rafert to attend workshop at Harvard
North Dakota State University Provost Bruce Rafert has been selected to attend a forum June 17-18 at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for senior academic administrators to exchange ideas for creating a better faculty workplace.
Rafert will work to address NDSU’s growth, efforts to recruit more women faculty and increasing workload stress.
Kristin Thompson earns HR certification
Kristin Thompson, a human resources representative for Bank Forward at Insure Forward, Fargo, has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification.
To obtain the certification, the individual must typically have six to eight years of progressive and increasingly complicated HR experience, have knowledge in all HR disciplines, and be able to use and apply judgment gained from experience in the profession. An individual must then pass an examination demonstrating this knowledge.
IAAP members attend annual meeting
The following members of the Red River Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals recently attended the Minnesota-North Dakota-South Dakota Division’s annual meeting in Minneapolis:
Sheila Watson, Air Force Recruiting Squadron; Bonnie Baumgartner, Gate City Bank; Darla Bakko, North Dakota State University’s plant pathology department; Sherri Finke, Realty 2000; Christine Moore, Monsanto; and Alana Erstad, Sanford Health.
The event included the annual business meeting as well as educational sessions on current technology and applications, retirement planning, professional and personal development.
