Hires and promotions (June 8)Four promoted at Cornerstone Bank
Cornerstone Bank, Fargo, has promoted Tom Boyer to senior vice president mortgage banking, Nan Fort to assistant vice president senior underwriter, Peter Johnson to assistant vice president mortgage loan officer and Dave Ouradnik to vice president mortgage loan officer.
Boyer joined the bank in 2006 as vice president of mortgage banking. He has been in banking since 1985.
Fort has been in mortgage banking for 20 years. She joined Cornerstone Bank in 2007 as an underwriter.
Johnson joined the bank in 2006 as a mortgage loan officer. He has worked in the banking field since 1997.
Ouradnik joined Cornerstone Bank in 2012. He was in banking for 16 years before owning a mortgage brokerage business for 18 years.
AgCountry appoints Schock as director
Rynell Schock, Staples, Minn., has been appointed stockholder director by the board of directors of AgCountry Farm Credit Services.
Schock and her husband farm near Staples along with their son and his family. They raise corn, soybeans, edible beans, wheat and sunflowers. She has master’s degrees in instruction/curriculum and administration. She is also employed as leader of education services at the National Joint Powers Alliance, a member-driven service cooperative in Staples.
Noridian names director of worksite wellness
Melissa Reardon Olson has joined Noridian Mutual Insurance Co. as director of worksite wellness in human resources and development.
She previously worked as director of Healthy North Dakota at the North Dakota Department of Health in Bismarck.
A native of Minot, N.D., Reardon Olson earned bachelor’s degrees in food and nutrition and corporate and community fitness from North Dakota State University. She is a licensed, registered dietitian.
First Class Mortgage in Fargo hires two
First Class Mortgage in Fargo has hired Laura Helgeson and Leah Hendricks as mortgage processors.
Helgeson is from Fargo and has prior experience in the inside sales industry. She earned an associate degree in financial and credit services administration at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead.
Hendricks is from Harwood, N.D., and has four years of experience in the insurance industry. She has earned associate degrees in dental hygiene and liberal arts.
Cass Electric Co-op makes three new hires
Cass County Electric Cooperative, Fargo, has hired Sarah Masseth as a member care representative and Wanda Throlson as administrative assistant of engineering and operations.
Karen Egeberg has accepted the new position of executive assistant.
Masseth is a recent graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Throlson previously worked as administrative assistant at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, N.D.
Egeberg was Cass Electric’s administrative assistant of engineering and operations for nine years.
Nor-Son Inc. adds construction experts
Nor-Son Inc., a consulting, design and construction services firm in Baxter, Minn., Minneapolis, Fargo and Sioux Falls, S.D., has hired Larry Petron as director of project controls and Brittany Schomaker as a field engineer.
Petron earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from North Dakota State University and Schomaker is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with degrees in architecture and construction management.
TCI Insurance hires account manager
Jennifer Decker has been hired as an account manager for commercial lines at TCI Insurance, West Fargo.
Decker joins TCI with more than 15 years in the insurance industry.
Firm names prosecutor, assistant attorney
Kristal Kadrie has joined the law firm of Erik R. Johnson and Associates Ltd., Fargo.
Kadrie is a Fargo native and a graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks. She will serve as a Fargo city prosecutor and assistant city attorney.
Olson promoted at Bell State Bank Wahpeton
Danica Olson has been promoted to personal banking officer at Bell State Bank & Trust, Wahpeton, N.D.
Originally from Walker, Minn., Olson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from North Dakota State University. She joined Bell State Bank & Trust in November and previously served as customer service representative in Breckenridge, Minn.
Assistive technology company hires two
The Interagency Program for Assistive Technology, Fargo, has hired Trish Floyd and Nikki Johnson as assistive technology consultants.
Floyd has served people with disabilities for many years as a volunteer and as a teaching counselor at the Abbott House, Mitchell, S.D., and as a middle school English student teacher and substitute teacher in Belle Fourche, S.D. She has a bachelor’s degree in theater and communications from Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, and a teaching certificate from Black Hills State University, Spearfish, S.D.
Johnson previously worked as a health care software application trainer with Sanford Health. She also worked for four years providing in-home applied behavioral analysis therapy to children with autism. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.
Katy Kjelvik joins RLE Group of Fargo
The RLE Group, Fargo, has hired Katy Kjelvik as a project CAD/Revit technician.
Kjelvik has experience in hospitality design, construction and project management. She is a graduate of the Minneapolis Drafting School and Rasmussen College.
Lake Region State hires VP of academic affairs
Lloyd Halvorson has been named vice president of academic affairs at Lake Region State College, Devils Lake, N.D.
From 2002 to 2011, Halvorson was assistant professor and director of the peace officer training program and later as assistant vice president.
Halvorson earned an associate degree at the college, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from Minot (N.D.) State University.

Tran has interned at the company since 2011. He plans to graduate from North Dakota State University in 2014 with degrees in computer science and mathematics.

Yvette Underdue Murph has been hired as vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
She currently serves as associate vice president for student affairs, enrollment management and diversity at Mississippi Valley State University.
She earned a certificate of undergraduate studies and master of education degree from Cambridge College and a doctorate of public administration from the University of La Verne in Southern California.

Essentia Health has hired Marcia Kempton as a nurse practitioner at the West Acres Clinic in Fargo, Tiffany Swenson as a physician assistant at the South University Clinic in Fargo, Mark Klabo as a physician assistant in Valley City, N.D. and Dr. Brad Buell in the otolaryngology department at the South University Clinic in Fargo.

Smith previously worked as a software application developer at Noridian Mutual Insurance Co. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from North Dakota State University.
Krolak previously worked as an intern at Sundog. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in May with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
VA Medical Center in Fargo promotes Leon
The Veterans Affairs Medical Center has promoted Dr. Zelko Leon to associate chief of staff for the Fargo VA Health Care System’s Mental Health Service Line.
Leon was previously employed as the chief of psychiatry.
He graduated from the School of Medicine, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, with post graduate training in the neuropsychiatric residence program at the University of Belgrade School of Medicine and the psychiatry residency program at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Grand Forks.

Cornelius (Connie) Kooren has joined the realty team at AM Realtors.
He has extensive experience in business management and sales. He is licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Northwestern Bank promotes two
Northwestern Bank has promoted Matthew Thomason to executive vice president of business banking and Jessica Mears to executive vice president of retail banking at their Moorhead location.
Thomason has been with the bank for four years and Mears for 15. Both were previously employed as senior vice presidents.
