ND woman says she will plead guilty to bank theftMINOT, N.D. — A North Dakota woman says she will plead guilty to stealing nearly $21,000 from an individual bank account by forging signatures on withdrawal slips.
Angelita Starr, also known as Angelita Little Dog, is charged in federal court with theft and bank fraud. She filed a plea agreement earlier this week.
Authorities say Starr obtained $20,900 in cash from the Lakeside State Bank in New Town by withdrawing money on several occasions and forging the signature of the account holder's guardian.
The plea agreement also calls for Starr to plead guilty in a separate case for distributing heroin and methamphetamine.
Starr faces a maximum penalty of 45 years in prison. A plea hearing has not been scheduled.
