NDSU’s Orgon eliminated at NCAA track championshipsEUGENE, Ore. – North Dakota State senior Casey Orgon had his college career come to an end Thursday, finishing 21st in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Orgon’s best throw was 199 feet, 6 inches. Only nine qualified for the finals.
“Not my best day,” Orgon said. “Everything felt OK but it wasn’t quite clicking. It wasn’t the best finish but it was a good season all in all.”
He will earn All-America honorable mention status for competing, making him the first Bison male athlete to earn that distinction at the Division I level.
NDSU senior Leslie Brost will compete in the women’s pole vault at 5:15 p.m. CDT today.
