West Fargo’s Rheault wins Gatorade POY honorsWEST FARGO – West Fargo junior softball standout Brittany Rheault was named the North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year on Thursday.
Rheault is the third West Fargo player to win the award. The previous Packers to win the award are Sydney Greenlund and Kacie Johnson.
The 5-foot-3 right-handed pitcher/outfielder helped the Packers to a 25-2 record and their 16th consecutive state softball championship.
Rheault finished the season 14-1 in the circle with a 0.96 earned run average, 152 strikeouts. She posted 16 strikeouts in West Fargo’s 1-0 win over Minot Ryan in the Class A state championship game.
At the plate, Rheault posted a .395 batting average with two home runs, 23 runs scored and 27 RBIs.
