Weather Talk: Summer likely to be cool, rainy just by being averageAnother week of wet and cool (some might say “cold”) weather has many people asking if the weather is likely to remain cool all summer.
Well, it certainly will not be as cool all summer as it was today. But last summer was a warm one. Fargo hit 100 degrees last July for the first time in six years. Last summer also brought us more and longer bouts of high humidity than we had sweated through in years.
So in comparison to last summer, this summer will likely be very cool and rainy just by being average. But the calendar is only five days into June and June usually behaves more like spring than summer in these parts. There will certainly be some hot weather this summer. On average, there are about 13 to 14 days that hit 90 degrees or higher, and we already had one back on May 13.
