‘The Voice’s’ Nicholas David plays Fargo fundraiser

FARGO – Nicholas David, the Twin Cities-based singer who earned third place on “The Voice,” headlines a fundraiser honoring a late Fargo musician.

The July 7 show at the Fargo Theatre benefits Cody’s Legacy Foundation, which helps connect area children to music and art. The foundation is named for Fargo guitarist Cody Conner who died in 2012.

Nicholas David Mrozinski was a finalist for NBC’s “The Voice” and won over crowds with a soulful rendition of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” as well as an energetic mash-up of Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls of Fire” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire”.

Before “The Voice,” he gained a Fargo following with his act The Feelin’ playing the HoDo Lounge and the Aquarium.

Th Cody Conner Memorial concert features Nicholas David and The Feelin’ with Elevate Rock School Band opening the all-ages, 8 p.m. show.

Organizers say other shows will be announced as benefits for the Cody Conner Memorial.

Tickets go on-sale at noon on Friday for $25 or $100 for VIP tickets, which include front row seats and a meet & greet with the artists. Additional fees may apply.
