North Dakota bicycle tour set for early AugustGARRISON, N.D. — This year's CANDISC bicycle tour in North Dakota has been scheduled for Aug. 3-10.
CANDISC stands for Cycling Around North Dakota In Sakakawea Country. The annual tour draws hundreds of riders from numerous U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
The tour starts and ends in Garrison. Stops are planned this year in Velva, Willow City, Lake Metigoshe State Park, Towner, Butte and Turtle Lake.
The route will cover about 370 miles. Daily rides will range from 30 to 80 miles.
The Minot Daily News reports that the registration cost is $195 per person or $380 per family before July 15. After that there is a $40 late fee. Riders who don't want to participate in the full tour can pay $50 per day.
