Trade Talk: Noodles & Co. joins South Creek Shopping Center

FARGO - Fargo’s first Noodles & Company opened in the fall of 2011 at 4501 15th Ave. S.

Now, a second Fargo restaurant is in the works near 32nd Avenue and 26th Street South.

It is one of at least three new stores setting up in the South Creek Shopping Center, with the others being a Sunseekers Tanning salon and a women’s clothing retailer called Mainstream Boutique.

Mainstream Boutique is expected to open in early June, according to owner Hollie Nelson.

She said Mainstream Boutique is a franchise brand that originated in Apple Valley, Minn., and now has locations in Bismarck, as well as in states like Wisconsin and Texas.

The Fargo store will be the first business venture for Nelson, who has worked as an occupational therapist in the area.

The new Noodles & Company is expected to open by late September, according to Ted Horan, a member of a restaurant ownership group called Border States Management, which is associated with a number of businesses in the Fargo-Moorhead area, including Erbert & Gerbert’s sandwich shops.

Horan said they are looking for at least one more Noodles & Company location in the area, possibly in north Fargo or Moorhead.

He said Border States Management opened a Noodles & Company last year in Grand Forks, and it plans to open one next month in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Two Turtles moving

Two Turtles Acupuncture Center is moving.

The center currently is at 810 4th Ave. S., Moorhead.

By July 1, the center plans to be settled in at 824 Main Ave., Fargo, according to Jen DeMaio, who operates the center with her husband, Steve Spader.

DeMaio said they will be located in the same building as Red River Health, which also offers acupuncture, but the two businesses will remain separate operations.

The phone number for Two Turtles, (218) 287-4501, will remain the same, DeMaio said.

Former eatery sold

A building at 3201 33rd St. S., Fargo, that once was home to a Country Kitchen has been sold.

The property’s future use is a mystery for now, as the new owner declined to provide details of his plans.

The Country Kitchen, the last one in the Fargo-Moorhead area, closed last summer, and the building has been vacant ever since.

The restaurant had operated in that location since 1996.

Galleria going up

Fargo building permit information indicates a development called Galleria on Veterans is planned for 2633 55th St. S. It is being constructed by Paces Lodging.
