Food bank offering free children’s meals

The Great Plains Food Bank, Fargo, is sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program.

Free meals will be available for children June 3 to Aug. 16 at Village West Park, 4415 9th Ave. Circle S., Fargo. Lunch will be served Monday through Friday from noon to 12:30 p.m.

‘Bob’s Gone Wild’ photo contest at Pancheros

Pancheros restaurant in Fargo is sponsoring the “Bob’s Gone Wild” competition to honor the franchise’s signature burrito-mixing tool.

Participants can get a take-home Bob and to enter the contest must take a picture of Bob “in the wild” with them and upload it to Pancheros’ Facebook page.

Winners will be selected Friday, June 7 and June 14 to get free burritos for a year. A grand prize winner will also be named June 14 to receive free burritos for a year and a hot air balloon ride.

Blow’s to host classes by Bernina educator

Blow’s Sew-n-Vac, Village West Shopping Center, Fargo, will host classes on June 10-11 with Bernina educator and trainer Debbi Lashbrook.

Bernina manufactures sewing, embroidery and quilting machines.

Lashbrook will teach two different classes:

“Made to Create: Journey through Creativity,” from 6 to 9:00 p.m. June 10. Participants will explore Bernina machine features, accessories and notions during a lecture and demonstration class. There will be door prizes and refreshments will be offered. The fee for this class is $10; and

“Made to Create: Creative Organization,” from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 2 to 5 p.m. June 11. Participants will decorate a simple sewing organizer with appliqué, crystals and customization with Bernina embroidery accessories and DesignWorks software. Sewing machines and kits will be provided by the dealer. The fee for this class is $10.

Bank opening Monday at Hornbacher’s

Gate City Bank’s newest office inside the Hornbacher’s Village West store at 4101 13th Ave. S., Fargo, will open Monday.

The office is Gate City’s 33rd office, the 11th office in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area and the third office inside a Hornbacher’s store.

The Village West office will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. The phone number for the office is (701) 293-2478.

Barb Bertschi, a 17-year employee and senior vice president, will manage the office, and Janet Mindt, with eight years of experience at Gate City Bank, is the personal banking supervisor.
