Style Profile: Communications professional aims for feminine, classic style

FARGO – In her polka-dot top, white pants and lemon blazer, Heidi Haaven is proof that spring has finally arrived.

Haaven, the communications director at Sundog, keeps her style fresh with classic pieces and smart accessories.

I spotted her at Caribou Coffee in a season-appropriate ensemble that brightened a gloomy day.

Describe your style. It’s very classic and feminine. I love dresses and skirts.

What are you wearing today? Pants and blazer from New York & Company, top from Nordstrom Rack, Guess shoes from T.J.Maxx and Michael Kors bag.

Who’s your style icon? Kate Middleton. I think she really embodies the classic, conservative, feminine style.

Where do you shop? T.J.Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, New York & Company and Loft.

What’s your favorite thing in your closet? A cream and navy wide-stripe dress that I bought at H&M in L.A.

I saw Michelle Obama wearing it on the campaign trail after I bought it, and it blows my mind that someone like me could have the same dress.

Where do you get style inspiration? I look on Pinterest to see how to wear things, and I love this blog by a woman named Yasi.

It’s called Hello, Gorgeous!, and she shops at normal stores that you can find almost anywhere.

What’s your fashion obsession? I’m obsessed with accessories of any kind. I have a million belts and scarves. You can take a regular outfit and make it totally different with the right accessories.

What do you splurge on? Bags and jeans. Miss Me and Joe’s Jeans are my favorite.
