Neighbors, others help save warehouse contents

FOUNTAIN, Minn. — A business owner credits neighbors and passers-by in his small southern Minnesota community with helping save the contents of his warehouse, damaged in a spring storm.

Drury's Furniture warehouse lost part of its 13,000-square-foot tin roof when strong winds and driving rain hit the city of Fountain in Fillmore County Wednesday. The wind lifted half of the roof and sent it sliding across the other half. Another section landed on Main St., but fortunately no one was hurt.

The Post-Bulletin (http://bit.ly/15lIQ1g ) says the storm damage exposed thousands of dollars of merchandise to heavy rain. Nearby business owners and others simply passing by helped Drury's employees move the merchandise into the protected section of the warehouse.

Owner Mike Drury, whose grandfather opened the store in 1925, says he's amazing by the outpouring of help.
