Letter: ‘Big Brother’ at work in cityJust call me Nostradamus, Fargo. Last year I argued that downtown surveillance cameras would spread like cancer throughout the area with little to no evidence that they have anything to do with reducing crime. That prediction has come true. Fargo police have an-nounced the expansion of the downtown surveillance program, more than doubling the initial investment of taxpayer dollars.
As I stated many times before, this program will continue to expand until the residents of Fargo put a stop to this government overreach. This is not only a waste of your money, it is an exploitation of your fears. Worse, this is “Big Brother” watching over you.
