ND men sentenced for driving drunk, killing men

FARGO — Two North Dakota men have been sentenced to prison for driving while drunk and killing another driver or passenger.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon announced Wednesday that 36-year-old Louis John Dunn was sentenced to three years and five months in prison. Dunn pleaded guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter in March.

Prosecutors say Dunn was driving drunk last October when he drove into the lane of on-coming traffic and struck Andrew Greywater, who later died from his injuries. The incident occurred on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

Purdon also announced that 38-year-old Jamie Lee Belgarde, of St. Michael, was sentenced to two years in prison. Belgarde pleaded guilty to rolling his vehicle after driving drunk and killing a passenger, his brother Donald Belgarde Jr.
