Alex Stern Foundation awards $168K in grants

FARGO – The Alex Stern Foundation has awarded $168,035 in grants.

The grants listed provide general operating support unless otherwise noted:

• Big Brother/Big Sister, $10,000, mentor program.

• Boys & Girls Club of the Red River Valley, $2,785, recreation room equipment.

• Dorothy Day House, $10,000.

• Elks Camp Grassick, $5,000.

• FM Area Youth Symphonies, $3,500.

• Fargo Moorhead Com-munity Theater, $5,000, upgrade to lighting system.

• Fargo Park District, $1,750, classical music festival.

• Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation, $7,500, “Got No Milk” project.

• Fraser, $10,000, skills enhancement training project.

• Gooseberry Park Players, $2,500.

• Handi-Wheels transportation, $15,000.

• Hospice of the Red River Valley, $5,000, community education and outreach program.

• Jamestown College, $7,500, scholarships for students from Cass and Clay counties.

• Kamp Kace, $10,000.

• Learning Bank, $2,500, “Fine Art Series.”

• Mayville State University, $7,500, scholarships for students from Cass and Clay counties.

• ND 4-H Foundation, $3,500.

• North Dakota Scottish Rite Childhood Language Disorder Center, $2,500.

• Nokomis Child Care Center, $10,000.

• Rape & Abuse Crisis Center, $5,000.

• Red River Boys Choir, $2,500.

• Red River Dental Access, $4,000.

• Red River Zoological Society, $10,000.

• Sharehouse, $5,000, beds and mattresses.

• Trollwood Performing Arts, $20,000.
