Letter: Eagle comparison makes no sense

I saw a billboard in south Moorhead near my office that read, “I have fingerprints at seven months.” The billboard had a photo of a baby – great reasoning. Fingerprints are not a proof of life. Dead people have fingerprints. Amputees have no fingerprints but are alive. Silly logic.

Sen. Margaret Sitte, R-Bismarck, suggested that because we have laws protecting eagle eggs we should have laws against abortion. There are no laws against eagles crushing eagle eggs. If there were laws against eagles crushing eagle eggs, a case might be made against abortion. Then we could address the compliance issue.

Look out, eagles – Margaret’s coming.
