Player hit by a line drive against RedHawks to be out a monthFARGO – Laredo Lemurs pitcher Greg Wilborn said he expects to be out about a month after taking a line drive off his head in Friday’s game against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
“I felt fine, which was my main thing, I knew where I was,” Wilborn said before Saturday’s American Association game.
Wilborn left Friday’s game in the fifth inning after a Jose Garcia line drive struck him near his left eye that opened a cut.
Wilborn, who went to a local hospital, said he received 18 stitches, including five internal. He did suffer a small fracture on the outer rim of the bone around his eye, Wilborn said.
