VIDEO: SWAT team arrests man in south Fargo after hour standoff

FARGO – After days of searching, the SWAT team tracked a wanted man to a South Fargo neighborhood Tuesday night where he was arrested for terrorizing and burglary.

The SWAT team surrounded the home of 30-year-old Travis Zierke just after 7 p.m., Tuesday. Law enforcement barricaded the block of 21st Street South with officers wearing bullet proof vests and hiding behind cars, ready to execute a search warrant.

Police surrounded the home for about an hour before a smoke device was used.

"It's called a distractionary device to gain the attention of whoever may be inside the trailer,” said Sgt. Jim VanLith.

Zierke emerged from the mobile home, his hands up, wearing only underwear.

Zierke was then handcuffed and arrested on charges of terrorizing and burglary before he was taken to the Cass County jail.
