Letter: Media ignore Benghazi storyBenghazi? Anyone? Not a story? Nothing to see here? Nothing to report? Not important that our president and secretary of state lied to cover their narrative that their administration had subdued terrorism around the world? Not a story that this was done to help his re-election? Never mind that four Americans died? Not a story that the survivors were ordered to not speak about it? Not important that our news media, this paper included, chooses not to report on it?
This is stunning and frightening. One way to take away freedom is for the press to steer the narrative and not report truthfully on what is happening if the truth does not fit their bias. This is happening here, and it will work in the favor of those who work to control others. It’s how to keep people ill-informed and malleable, and it is contrary to the moral responsibility of the press for a free people.
“But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” – John Adams
