Letter: Consider sound in the ‘cathedral’

I hope the designers of the new Vikings “crystal cathedral” realize one of the major problems the actual Crystal Cathedral had – and still has – is with the acoustics. It’s extraordinarily loud! Sound bounces off of all the glass, and it is a big echo chamber. How in the world are the fans and players going to be able to stand all of that noise? If they thought the Metrodome was loud, wait until they get into the crystal cathedral. Some people will probably go deaf.

If you have any way of getting this message to the Vikings planning committee, please do so because it will be a very serious problem that is almost impossible to solve. If they wait until the thing is built to realize the problem, it will be too late.
