Monday auction to benefit foundationFARGO – A silent auction to help build a school in Kenya will be held here Monday.
Fargo’s first Classroom of Dreams silent auction will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Legacy Ballroom, 505 3rd Ave. N.
The event is put on by the Carson Glore Foundation, started in 2011 in memory of Glore by fellow Longfellow Elementary student and friend Nathan Nerland.
The foundation opened the final classrooms of its first school in Kamuya, Kenya, in January, and is now raising $158,000 for a second school to be built in Kathyoli in 2013 or 2014. The Kathyoli Primary School will consist of seven new classrooms with desks, eight latrines and a water supply system.
Monday’s auction includes $11,000 in items up for bids.
