Scout honors - 05/19/13Matthew Valenti
Matthew Valenti, Sean Ahl-ness and Shane McCullough have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and will be recognized at a Court of Honor ceremony at 2 p.m. today at the Fargo Air Museum. All are members of Boy Scout Troop 229.
Valenti is a senior at Davies High School in Fargo and the son of Steve and Harlene Valenti. His service project involved updating the Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial Dog Tag wall at the Fargo Air Museum.
Ahlness is a junior at Fargo South High School and the son of Hans and Jane Ahlness. His service project was organizing and directing a 5K fun run/walk with entry donations of nonperishable food items to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank.
McCullough is a freshman at the University of Wyoming and is the son of Marshall and Mari McCullough. His service project was designing and building a paver walkway to a memorial site at the Sandhills Archery Park.
Austin Albrecht, son of John and Lori Albrecht, West Fargo, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout and will be recognized at a Court of Honor ceremony at 2:30 p.m. today at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo.
Austin is a senior at West Fargo High School and a member of Troop 274 with Steve Fischer as Scoutmaster.
His Eagle Scout project was constructing 17 wooden receptacle holders for Bonanzaville.
