Air National Guard Airmen 1st Class Tyler Laufenberg and Colter Pratt have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. Lauf-enberg is the son of Richard and Julie Laufenberg, West Fargo, and a 2012 graduate of West Fargo High School. Pratt is the son of Melissa Mohr, Fargo, and a 2012 graduate of Fargo Davies High School.
Army Sgt. Jonathan H. Schroeder has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Schroeder is the son of Don and Claudia Schroeder, Fargo, and a 2003 graduate of West Fargo High School and 2008 graduate of North Dakota State University.
Army National Guard Pfc. Joshua Hedstrom has graduated from One Station Unite Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. Hedstrom is the son of Christy Stenseth Hedstrom, West Fargo, and Bradly Hedstrom, Wilton, N.D., and a 2012 graduate of West Fargo High School.
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Tom H. Grotenhuis has graduated from the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C. Grotenhuis is the son of Phil and Martha Grotenhuis, Fargo, and a 2011 graduate of Fargo South High School.
PROMOTIONS: Duane Kangas, of Moorhead, has been promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant in the North Dakota Air National Guard. He is a first sergeant in the Fargo-based 119th Wing. Kangas served in the Air Force from 1984-88 and joined the Air National Guard in 1989.
Amy Wieser Willson, of West Fargo, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant first class. Willson is an 18-year veteran of the North Dakota National Guard. A former electronic equipment repairer for the Guard, she recently transferred to Joint Force Headquarters public affairs based in Bismarck. She has been on numerous deployments, including a 15-month deployment with the 141st Engineer Combat Battalion to Iraq, as well as several shorter missions overseas to Honduras, Germany and Ghana.
