Minot State professor joins NDUS staffBISMARCK - Minot State University professor John P. Girard will join the North Dakota University system July 1 as the associate vice chancellor for academic affairs.
According to a news release, Girard has taught graduate and undergraduate business classes since 2004 and served in various administrative roles. The Council of College Faculties elected him to serve as faculty adviser to the State Board of Higher Education from 2010 through 2012.
Girard “has the education and the depth and breadth of experience that make him the perfect candidate for this position,” NDUS Chancellor Hamid Shirvani said in the release.
Girard has a doctorate and a master’s degree in business administration from Touro University International in California and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, the release said.
Girard is the founder of Sagology, a firm dedicated to connecting people to facilitate collaboration, learning and knowledge sharing.
Girard will be involved with oversight of academic affairs on all campuses, maintaining relationships with K-12 partners, working with campuses on student affairs, academic planning, program and policy development, among other duties.
