Quilting project generates nearly $1,000 for women’s shelterFARGO – A quilt made by seven women over the course of about eight months and featured May 8 in SheSays sold at silent auction for more than $1,000.
Members of the quilting group at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo hand-stitched the queen-sized cathedral window quilt with a complicated quilting technique.
The quilt and two pillow shams sold at silent auction for $1,600. A throw pillow made in the same style sold for $125 and a wall hanging sold for $155.
Half of the proceeds will go to the YWCA women’s shelter. The other half will go to the Olivet quilting group for materials and supplies.
