Moorhead teams place in Math MastersMOORHEAD – Teams from S.G. Reinertsen Elementary, Hawley Elementary and Ellen Hopkins Elementary took top honors in the fifth grade Regional Math Masters Tournament here.
The S.G. Reinertsen Black Team placed first. Team members are Chrisanto D’Agostino, Eric Hawley, Natalia Kellerman, Brock Klimek and Chani Thorne.
The Hawley Elementary team of Kelso Anderson, Sydney Cook, McKenzie Koenig, Marcus Rosing and Matt Thompson placed second.
The Ellen Hopkins Elementary team placed third. Team members are Emma Craig, Rachel Craig, Elizabeth Krause, Delia Roisum and Shawn Schmidt.
Math Masters of Minnesota is a statewide competition that challenges students to use higher-order thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in mathematics and recognizes academic effort and achievement.
