Moorhead police seek info on Saturday stabbingMOORHEAD – Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the early morning hours Saturday and are seeking information from the public.
The investigation determined that 26-year-old Zakariya Abdiwahab Abdikarim was involved in a physical confrontation with 25-year-old Michael Burciaga. Burciaga received two puncture injuries to the chest and one to his arm by an unknown weapon, according to a Moorhead Police Department news release.
The incident happened at 5:16 a.m. during a social gathering in an apartment at 518 32nd Ave. S., according to the news release.
Burciaga was transported to Sanford Hospital for injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening. Abdikarim left the scene before officers arrived.
No arrests have been made, and no information of a danger to the general public exists, according to the news release.
The relationship between Burciaga and Abdikarim has not yet been determined. The investigation is still ongoing.
Anyone with information on the incident or the whereabouts of Abdikarim is asked to call Red River Dispatch at (701) 451-7660 and ask to speak to the on-duty Moorhead Police supervisor, according to the release.
