LaDage chosen to lead Moorhead elementary

MOORHEAD – The Moorhead School Board will be asked to approve a new principal Monday for Ellen Hopkins Elementary School.

Ryan LaDage, a student performance strategist for the Fargo School District since 2011, is the administration’s choice, Superintendent Lynne Kovash said Friday.

“We are excited to have him as a part of our team in Moorhead Area Public Schools,” she said in a news release.

LaDage worked as an elementary school principal in northern Illinois for four years, and as a fifth-grade teacher for nine years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and history from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., in 1998.

He completed his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in 2002 and his educational leadership certificate in 2006, both from National-Louis University, Wheeling, Ill.

LaDage will take over for Mary Jo Schmid, who retires at the end of June.
