Four earn VA nursing excellence awards

The Fargo VA Health Care System has named the recipients of its 2013 Nursing Excellence Awards. The award recipients and their category are:

Tabitha Olsen-Bergman, nursing assistant; Amanda Wallace, licensed practical nurse; Michele Everson, registered nurse; and Barb Franke, registered nurse in an expanded role.

Peterson selected for leadership academy

Melissa Peterson, director of nursing at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, has been selected to participate in Aging Services of Minnesota’s 2013 Leadership Academy.

The yearlong program is an engaging experience in self-reflection, leadership theory, critical skill development and action learning.

Peterson graduated from Presentation College, Aberdeen, S.D, with an associate degree in nursing and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She earned a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Mary, Fargo. Peterson has been with Eventide since 2011.

Newman earns fellow status from ASRT

Donna Newman, Fargo, has earned fellow status from the American Society of Radiological Technologists.

Newman, lead technologist at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, has been a member of the ASRT since 1995 and has served in every capacity on the ASRT board of directors and has been a leader in the radiologic technology profession at the international, national and local level.

Realty Executives honors top agents

Realty Executives North Plains, Fargo, has honored its 2012 top-producing agents. The agents include: Gerry Gangnes, Gary Pattison and Greg Baldwin.

KLJ ranked nationally as top 500 design firm

KLJ, a multi-disciplinary engineering and planning firm with 18 locations throughout the Midwest, has been recognized as one of the nation’s top 500 design firms by Engineering News Record.

The annual list ranks the 500 largest U.S.-based design firms based on design-specific revenue. KLG was ranked 16th in the nation for telecommunications, as the 76th largest designer in the U.S. and the 110th largest firm in the U.S.

Essentia Health Fosston earns national awards

Essentia Health, Fosston, Minn., has been named as one of the Top 20 critical access hospitals in the area of quality.

The rankings, made by the National Rural Health Association and iVantage Health Analytics, are based on a judging process of more than 50 criteria, including clinical and operational performance. The designation places the Fosston facility in the top 20 hospitals out of more than 1,300 critical access hospitals across the country.

The Fosston hospital also received the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence for the third consecutive year. This recognition highlights hospitals for achieving national performance standards for clinical quality, safety and patient experience.

Park Co. makes REAL Trends 500 list

Park Co. Realtors, Fargo, has been named to the REAL Trends 500. The company ranked 391st in the REAL Trends 500 with 1,544 residential transaction sides closed last year.

The company was also included in two additional lists within the report. A new ranking the firm received this year is the top firms ranked by closed transactions per office list. It recognizes the top 149 brokerages with the most closed transactions per office. Park Co. was also listed among the largest independents.

NDSU hall director earns Gunkelman Award

North Dakota State University Pavek Hall director Kimberly Buckley has received the Mary McCannel Gunkelman Recognition Award, given to a student, faculty or staff member who has made the most significant and unselfish contribution to a happy environment at NDSU.

The award was established in 1987 and is named in honor of Gunkelman, a 1942 graduate of the NDSU College of Home Economics. She died in 1985.

Buckley is a native of Toledo, Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Lourdes University, Sylvania, Ohio.

Insure Forward earns award from ACUITY

ACUITY has recognized Insure Forward, Fargo, for the 25th anniversary of their business relationship. Insure Forward is part of Bank Forward and has operated as an independent insurance agency for more than 85 years.

Based in Sheboygan, Wis., ACUITY is a property and casualty insurer that operates in 20 states.

McCann-Koerselman honored for sales

Patrice McCann-Koerselman, Horace, N.D., a representative of Modern Woodmen of America, has been named to the company’s President’s Club.

The distinction recognizes her high achievement in life insurance sales among the organization’s representatives nationwide.

Kenworth dealership earns excellence award

Wallwork Truck Center in Fargo has been presented the Kenworth Dealer Excellence Award.

The award is presented to dealers nationwide based on customer satisfaction, truck rental, parts availability, hours of operation and technician training.

MSUM elects seven to alumni foundation

Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Alumni Foundation has elected its officers for 2013-14. Those elected are: Corey Elmer, president; Lindsay (Hartman) Hample, vice president; Mary Jo Richard, treasurer; and Tod Ganje, secretary.

Members at large are Lisa Erickson, Scott Nelson and John Thorvilson.

Elmer (1994) lives in Moorhead and is a shareholder with the Vogel Law Firm, practicing corporate and real estate law in its Moorhead office.

Hample (2005), of Minnetonka, Minn., is the senior manager of global physician education and training at American Medical Systems.

Richard (1986) is from Fargo and is a certified public accountant and audit partner at Eide Bailly LLP.

Ganje (1998) is from Fargo and is the manager of Travel Inc., Moorhead.

Erickson (1979) is from Moorhead has served on the Moorhead School Board for more than 13 years.

Nelson (1974), of Tempe, Ariz., is the founding shareholder in Laney’s Inc., a PHVACE firm in Fargo and chief executive officer of E+C2 Holdings, Tempe.

Thorvilson (1978), of Plymouth, Minn., is a partner with Moquist Thorvilson Kaufmann LLC and has been active in the CPA profession for more than 30 years.

Spherion receives sales excellence award

Spherion Staffing, North Dakota, is recipient of the 2012 Sales Excellence Award, which was presented at the national franchise owner’s awards banquet held recently in Washington, D.C.

Jill Berg is president and owner of Spherion Staffing. She has been a franchise owner with Spherion for 19 years and has offices in Fargo, Bismarck and Minot, N.D.

Allstate Peterbilt earns national awards

Allstate Peterbilt of Fargo has been named the 2012 North American Dealer of the Year by Peterbilt Motors Co.

The award is presented in recognition for significant sales growth, operational excellence and employee dedication to customer service.

The Fargo dealer also received the Platinum Oval and Best in Class awards for overall performance in 2012.

Allstate Peterbilt has operated in the Fargo-Moorhead and the tri-state area since 1974. The award encompasses the Allstate Peterbilt locations in Fargo, Bismarck and Williston, N.D.
