Fargo Salvation Army to host free ‘Donut Day’FARGO – The Salvation Army and Sandy’s Donuts and Coffee Shop, West Fargo, are teaming up to offer free homemade doughnuts from 9 to 11 a.m. May 14 here at the Salvation Army, 304 Roberts St.
As part of the Salvation Army’s annual “Donut Day” celebration, the doughnuts are made with the same recipe that Salvation Army “Donut Girls” used during World War I and II. The pastries were served to soldiers battling on the front lines in order to provide comfort and boost their spirits.
The event is a way to thank the Fargo-Moorhead community for its generous year-round support of the Salvation Army’s critical programs.
