Man accused of DUI, fleeing from deputy in Richland CountyLIDGERWOOD, N.D. – Authorities say one person was arrested after fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle at 5:35 p.m. on Friday about 3 miles south of here.
According to a Richland County Sheriff’s Office news release, Nick Manikowski refused to stop when a Richland County deputy attempted to stop him for a traffic violation. The pursuit continued for 14 miles, ending in a CRP field.
A grass fire started in the field during Manikowski’s arrest. No one was injured, and the Lidgerwood Fire Department responded.
Manikowski was arrested and charged with fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and DUI. This case is still under investigation.
