WF schools earn honors in ‘Play 60’ programWEST FARGO – The West Fargo School District has been awarded top state honors in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council and the National Football League.
Sheyenne 9th Grade Center was awarded the top $3,000 prize in the North Dakota School Champion Awards, which was given based on a school’s level of engagement in the program. The funds will be used to purchase new cafeteria equipment.
Cheney Middle School and West Fargo High School were also recognized as school champions and each received a prize pack valued at $1,000.
West Fargo High School teachers Chelsea Hendricks and Leah Swedberg earned the program’s Advisers of the Year award and the Student Ambassador Award went to Olivia Larson, vice president of Sheyenne’s student council. This is the third year in a row that North Dakota’s state student ambassador has come from the West Fargo School District.
