Bike to Work Week events set May 12-17FARGO – A weeklong series of bicycle-related events are planned May 12-17 in Fargo-Moorhead to encourage people to ride for physical health, transportation and fun.
Commuters are encouraged to bike to work every Friday during the summer, making their pilot ride on May 15, which is Community Bike to Work Day.
Other events for the week include:
•May 12, 2 to 4 p.m., bike rodeo at Great Northern Bicycle Co., downtown Fargo, learn basic bike maintenance and children can ride an obstacle course.
•May 13, 6 p.m., Bike Bash at Moorhead Public Library, cycle-inspired crafts and a resource fair.
•May 13, 6 p.m., ride with Fargo city commissioners and Moorhead City Council leaders starting at Great Northern Bicycle.
•May 15, Community Bike to Work Day and Corporate Commuter Challenge, a program that provides incentives for downtown employees to bike to work.
•May 16, 7 to 10 p.m., Art in Action at Great Northern Bicycle, a silent auction of bicycle-inspired arts and crafts by local artists.
•May 17, 7 to 9 a.m., Breakfast on the Bridge, a free healthy breakfast served to everyone on a bicycle or on foot.
