Man who died of exposure in northern ND identified

Authorities have identified the 51-year-old man who died after his pickup became partially submerged on a washed-out road.

Steve Feil of Hannah, N.D., is the man whose body was found near his home on Wednesday, the state Highway Patrol revealed Thursday.

His pickup was stuck on a flooded road late Tuesday night, the patrol said it believes, and he apparently died of exposure while trying to walk home.

The water was icy and air temperatures as low as 27 degrees that night.

Hannah is in northwestern Cavalier County.
